Denver Basketball Officials

Denver Area 8 is the official high school officials organization in the Denver Metro area.  Area 8 is one of the 18 districts within the state organization of Colorado Board #4.  Colorado Board #4 is the state member of International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO).  To work varsity assignments in Colorado, members must pass the certification test of IAABO.

The Denver area assigners represent 14 leagues and 114 schools with over 4500 varsity games every season. With lower level JV, Sophomore and Freshman games on both the girls and boys sides, Denver Area 8 assigners will assign a total of over 15,000 high school games.

To say that we have enough officials to cover these games with our 300+ certified members can be a stretch so we are always encouraging new potential officials to sign up and get off the couch!

This website is being developed for informational purposes for the membership of Area 8 as well as other non certified high school officials with the hope that they will advance to the high school level.
