ACTIVITIES
We are going to encourage mentors and mentees to participate in any or all of the following activities; observe each other officiate, officiate games together, observe pre-games, attend meetings together, attend camps and clinics together and generally communicate with each other throughout the year. The level of commitment is up to each individual as long as the needs of the mentees are met.
MENTORS
We are always looking for experienced officials who are willing to give something back to the game by mentoring a new official. If you are interested in mentoring please contact Rudy and he will forward a short questionnaire that will help us match you with a compatible mentee. We will be accepting mentors throughout the year with no closing date to participate.
MENTEES
Any new official, 1-3 years of experience, is encouraged to enter the Mentor Program. Contact Sal and you will be sent a short questionnaire in order to match you with an experienced official. There is no deadline to apply as the program will be running throughout the year.
LEAGUES
The Mentor Committee is soliciting spring, summer and fall leagues to compliment regular season high school games as a venue to allow mentors and mentees to work together throughout the year. If you assign any of these leagues please contact any committee member with league information in order to help us with this endeavor.
MEETINGS
We are planning quarterly meetings and other diverse options for mentors and mentees to participate as a team to share and dialogue about current basketball topics and events. Dates and other meeting information will be posted in the near future.
